Can't see what's all the confusion about the battery compartment or installing the battery. Simply pull the trigger with a fingernail back towards the short end and slide cover back. One person states that the battery compartment is very difficult or impossible for them to change. es changing is intuitive and easy for them. I am a college graduate with above average intelligence and so far have been unable to open the battery compartment, so it would seem that providing some basic instructions on changing the battery, since the scale comes with the battery not installed in the scale, Instructions for changing/installing the battery would be the first thing I would suggest if you are wanting feedback from customers. Good product, battery changes frustrating

I do like this scale but will go with a manual one next time. While this works well when the battery is fresh, battery changes are frustrating as it is not intuitive to reset (still says "LO" after many battery changes).
